Youth Camps/Retreats

• Held once a year for all youth members, though non-youth members are always welcome
• Usually held at a UCA campsite
• Camp/retreat has a theme which is emphasised during the 3 or so days period
• Most recent retreat was held at Delhuntie Park, Traralgon in 2003
• Attendance at previous camp 35

Leadership retreats/training:

• a retreat for youth leaders is conducted once a year
• these retreats have set themes, but its aim is usually to refresh the enthusiasm and energy levels of the youth leaders
• focuses on possible new ideas to implement within youth ministry
• these retreats are usually held at UCA venues, where possible, as well as UCA speakers and learning materials
• leadership training and support is achieved through many different ways including: NYLTC (National Youth Leadership Training Certificate, a UCA program for youth leaders). Our youth group sent 14 delegates of which 12 has completed the course. Meetings are held once every quarter or whenever required for all leaders where they discuss ideas, high and low points, problems and any other concerns they may have come across during the past three months in their ministries.
