Program & Activities

Home Bible Studies - The Bible studies aim to nurture members spiritually and to equip them for discipleship

  • There are three Bible study groups who regularly meet every Saturday evening
  • These groups were formed according to geographical areas of its members. However, Bible studies also attract non-members, thus offering an opportunity to reach out to others.
  • 1. Werribee Bible Study Group - includes the Altona, Laverton, Hoppers Crossing residents. Currently there are 11 families actively participating every Saturday
  • 2. St Albans Bible Study Group - includes the Delahey, Sydenham and Keilor residents. There are 9 families.
  • 3. Deer Park Bible Study Group - includes Kings Park, Sunshine, Cairnlea, Broadmeadows, Caroline Springs and Burnside residents.
  • The Home Bible Studies areas of ministry currently have three leaders who rotate every 3 months. These leaders also take on the responsibility of identifying potential Bible Study leaders by allowing and assisting members to lead the evening study's proceedings. They are later on specifically trained with the objective of creating new and smaller Bible Study groups in their area.
  • Home Bible Studies used to follow the lectionary readings as the basis of knowledge-seeking discussions and also to be familiar with the Sunday message, the following day.
  • All three Home Bible Study groups meet together every end of a quarter for a Joint Bible Study Fellowship. We have an exciting program for the night, which includes singing, sharing, bible-based games, quizzes and other activities, as well as a summarisation of the lessons studied during that quarter. An opportunity to ask any questions arising from anything covered during the bible studies is given priority. Suggestions on how the Home Bible Studies could be improved are also welcome during this time.
  • In the past, Joint Bible Studies have also been a time of fellowship outside of its usual settings. E.g. bowling centres, or simply outdoors
  • Plans to continue evangelistic crusades/outreach events at least once a year in different areas of suburban Melbourne.
  • Take every opportunity for the church to be involved in community-based activities and in ecumenical gatherings.
  • Actively participate in activities at Presbytery, Synod and Assembly levels. Sharing cultural dances and songs at such occasions.
  •
